Dark Gradient Backgrounds
Eight dark gradients built on near-black bases with a single discipline: the background stays quiet enough for content while one or two jewel-toned blooms keep it from being a dead flat panel. Because these are CSS rather than compressed images, they render razor-sharp at any resolution — HD, 4K, ultrawide — with zero banding artifacts from lossy compression.
Dark backgrounds succeed or fail on restraint. Every design here keeps most of the canvas within a few percent of black and lets the color live in controlled pools — that is what keeps white text at full contrast almost everywhere on the surface.
These double as desktop wallpapers: the grain layer is doing real work at large sizes, breaking up the smooth falloff that shows stepping on big monitors. For app UI, pair one with translucent panels from our glassmorphism tool — the colored glow reads through frosted surfaces beautifully and gives dark interfaces a focal point without adding any imagery at all.
